Who is University at Albany School of Business Investment Group
The University at Albany School of Business Investment Group (UASBIG) is a student-run investment fund based in Albany, New York. It is sponsored by CIIM and operates with a team of approximately 31 employees. UASBIG manages a portfolio of assets with the goal of outperforming the returns of the S&P 1500 index, which is composed of the S&P 500, S&P 400, and S&P 600 indices. UASBIG's primary objective is to maximize the value of assets under management while preserving their real, inflation-adjusted value. The group also provides an educational experience for undergraduate students interested in finance, teaching them research techniques for successful portfolio and investment management. Students in the group analyze stocks and pitch their recommendations to an Advisory Board during weekly conference calls. A key feature of UASBIG is its practical, hands-on approach.
