Who is The United States Padel Association USPA
The United States Padel Association (USPA) is a small non-profit organization based in Houston, Texas. Employing three individuals, the USPA generates an annual revenue of $2.5 million. The USPA is dedicated to promoting and developing the sport of Padel in the United States. Their mission includes establishing rules of play, setting a code of conduct for players, and creating national and international amateur Padel tournaments. The organization also aims to connect with individuals and groups interested in Padel as a recreational activity. The USPA boasts a rich history, tracing its roots back to 1993 when Padel was first introduced to the United States in Houston. Ed Thompson and Felipe Arnold, inspired by the sport's rapid growth in Argentina, established the very first padel court at the Houstonian Hotel Club and Spa. They went on to form the first men's US padel team, comprised of elite tennis players from the Houston area.
