River City Brass

River City Brass is a 12-employee musical group based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1981, the ensemble is comprised of 28 members. River City Brass specializes in American brass band music, entertaining and educating audiences through live performances and recordings. They offer 51 regional concerts each year at seven venues across the region, in addition to maintaining a youth band and a Saturday Music Program. The group has performed nationally at renowned venues like Musikfest in Pennsylvania, the Chautauqua Institution in New York, and the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan, as well as appearing on programs like The Today Show and NPR’s Performance Today. Internationally, they tour every few years, most recently performing in Italy. Under the direction of conductor Dr. James Gourlay, River City Brass has produced 15 commercially available recordings, with their latest releases including "River City Brass – 30 Years," "Christmas Brasstacular," and "Proud to Be American."
