Pregnancy Loss and Infant Death Alliance

The Pregnancy Loss and Infant Death Alliance (PLIDA) is a non-profit organization based in Houston, Texas. With six employees, PLIDA is dedicated to providing support and resources to families experiencing perinatal and neonatal bereavement. PLIDA focuses on education, advocacy, and networking for healthcare providers and parent advocates. They aim to promote evidence-based care for families experiencing perinatal loss, serving as a central resource for information sharing among professionals, advocates, media, and policymakers. PLIDA organizes the biennial International Perinatal Bereavement Conference, bringing together experts and stakeholders to advance understanding and improve care practices. Founded in 2002, PLIDA emerged from the collaboration of several existing advocacy groups recognizing the need for a unified voice in promoting professional perinatal bereavement services. These founding organizations, including Resolve Through Sharing, Share Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support, Pen Parents, the Infant Loss Center, and the National Association of Perinatal Organizations, continue to play a significant role in PLIDA's leadership.
