Operation Crossroads Africa

Operation Crossroads Africa is a non-profit organization based in New York, New York, with a team of 5 to 9 employees. Founded in 1958 by Dr. James H. Robinson, the organization aims to foster cross-cultural understanding and empower communities in Africa. Operation Crossroads Africa offers a unique program called the Africa Program, designed to immerse young adults in African culture and contribute to sustainable development. Participants spend 3 days in orientation, 6 weeks working on a community-driven project, and 1 week exploring their host country. The Africa Program emphasizes collaboration, diversity, and community engagement. Groups consist of 8 to 10 individuals from diverse backgrounds, working alongside local residents on projects initiated by the community.
