New York Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services

The New York Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (NYAPRS) is a non-profit organization based in Albany, New York, with 24 employees. Founded in 1981, NYAPRS focuses on connecting and uniting individuals within the mental health recovery and rehabilitation community in New York. NYAPRS provides a platform for community mental health service agencies, practitioners, peers, and advocates to share a common belief in the possibility of recovery, healing, and independence for individuals with psychiatric disabilities or diagnoses. Through its individual and organizational memberships, NYAPRS reaches over 20,000 individuals who receive recovery, rehabilitation, and peer-supported services. NYAPRS's Board of Directors and staff are comprised of a diverse group of individuals who use and/or provide a range of recovery-centered services. They are dedicated to advocating for public policy reforms that promote recovery, rehabilitation, rights, peer support, community integration, cultural competence, and innovative, high-quality recovery services.
