Musician Treatment Foundation

Musician Treatment Foundation (MTF) is a small non-profit organization based in Austin, Texas, dedicated to providing orthopedic care to professional musicians. With a team of 3 employees, MTF has successfully provided over $2.5 million worth of medical care to eligible musicians since its inception. MTF focuses on assisting under- and uninsured professional musicians suffering from injuries to their shoulders, elbows, and hands. Recognizing the unique demands and risks associated with musical performance, the organization has established a network of orthopedists known as Physicians for Musicians (P4M). This network spans numerous cities across the United States and beyond, providing accessible care for musicians both at home and on tour. The foundation's commitment extends beyond direct medical care. MTF actively educates musicians of all levels about upper limb injuries and preventative techniques to minimize the risk of future problems. They are also dedicated to building a comprehensive physician-surgeon network and musician registry, facilitating care on a national and international scale. Furthermore, MTF is developing a cutting-edge cloud-based platform to enable remote preoperative, postoperative, and non-operative care, ensuring continuity of service for musicians.
