Mercy Center

Mercy Center is a non-profit organization headquartered in New York, New York. Founded in 1995, the organization employs 86 staff members and is supported by 170 dedicated volunteers. The center provides a wide range of programs and services aimed at empowering low-income women and families in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the South Bronx. These include English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes, immigrant services, adult education and work readiness training, family skills development, alternatives to violence programs, family development initiatives, youth programs, social services, and community education opportunities. Mercy Center's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families by addressing issues such as unemployment, poverty, and family violence. They believe that by providing access to education, counseling, and advocacy strategies, they can help individuals become self-sufficient and create a more supportive community.
