Who is Lancaster Area Sewer Authority
The Lancaster Area Sewer Authority (LASA) is a municipal authority based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Established in 1965, LASA is responsible for the ownership, operation, and maintenance of a comprehensive sanitary sewer system serving the Lancaster area. LASA provides wastewater treatment and sewer services to approximately 40,000 customers, including 125,000 citizens and 1,400 businesses, across nine Lancaster County municipalities. The system encompasses a vast network of approximately 620 miles of pipeline and 44 pumping stations. Two wastewater treatment plants, one with a capacity of up to 15 million gallons per day and another treating 545,000 gallons per day, ensure the safe and responsible treatment of wastewater before it is returned to the Susquehanna River. For more information regarding LASA's services or operations, please visit their website at lasa.org.
