Knoxville Area Project Access

Knoxville Area Project Access (KAPA) is a community-based partnership located in Knoxville, Tennessee dedicated to providing access to healthcare for low-income and uninsured individuals in East Tennessee. The organization is comprised of a small team of seven employees. KAPA coordinates donated healthcare services from a vast network of healthcare providers. Since its founding in 2006, the organization has partnered with all Knox Area hospitals and over 2,500 healthcare professionals. Through these partnerships, KAPA has enabled over 32,000 patients to receive healthcare services at little or no cost. KAPA's core mission is to bridge the healthcare gap by leveraging the generosity of healthcare providers to offer a lifeline to individuals facing financial barriers to care. Patients enrolled with KAPA benefit from a substantial amount of donated services, totaling approximately $375 million.
