GirlForward

GirlForward is a non-profit organization based in Chicago, Illinois, with 18 employees. The organization is dedicated to empowering girls who have been displaced by conflict and persecution. GirlForward supports girls through its three core programs: Mentoring, Education, and Safe Spaces. The Mentoring Program pairs girls with mentors to engage in activities focused on wellness, wisdom, financial literacy, and global awareness to help them graduate from high school. The Education Program combines tutoring services with a six-week summer camp, Camp GirlForward, which uses a literacy-based curriculum to explore themes of identity, community, and empowerment. The Safe Spaces Program provides girls with a supportive environment to connect with peers and access needed resources through after-school hours and workshops. GirlForward believes that by investing in girls, they create a ripple effect of positive change that benefits individuals, families, and communities.
