Council on the Environment of New York City

The Council on the Environment of NYC (CENYC) is a hands-on non-profit organization based in New York City. With a small team of four employees, CENYC is dedicated to improving the quality of life in New York City by focusing on environmental programs that directly impact communities. CENYC's mission is achieved through several key projects and programs. These include Greenmarket, a program supporting local farmers; the New Farmer Development Project, which helps aspiring farmers get established; the Office of Recycling Outreach and Education, promoting responsible waste management practices; Environmental Education initiatives, fostering environmental awareness; and Open Space Greening projects, enhancing green spaces throughout the city. Through these diverse initiatives, CENYC aims to empower all New Yorkers to be active participants in securing a clean and healthy environment for future generations.
