CNY Jazz Arts Foundation

The CNY Jazz Arts Foundation is a not-for-profit organization based in Syracuse, New York. Founded in 1995, the organization is comprised of a small team of three employees. CNY Jazz Arts Foundation's mission is to cultivate and present jazz music within the Central New York community. The foundation operates the Central New York Jazz Orchestra (CNYJO), a seventeen-piece big band that performs for a diverse audience of 80,000 annually. In addition to concerts, CNY Jazz Arts Foundation provides extensive music education programs, training over 4,000 students each year. These students have the opportunity to showcase their talents through performances viewed by an audience of over 40,000. CNY Jazz Arts Foundation's commitment to jazz is further demonstrated through its acquisition and renovation of "Jazz Central," a downtown property that now serves as the organization's headquarters. Jazz Central features a 78-seat theatre for scholastic and cabaret productions, administrative offices, a dedicated music library, and flexible meeting and performance spaces.
