Challah for Hunger

Challah for Hunger is a non-profit organization based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The organization employs 28 people and generates annual revenue of over $10,000. Challah for Hunger mobilizes volunteers across the country to combat hunger through the baking and sale of challah bread. Each week, volunteers create and sell 30 to 300 loaves of challah, often experimenting with unique flavors like chocolate chip, peanut butter-chocolate chip, parsley-sage-rosemary-and-thyme, cinnamon sugar, and sun-dried tomato. Half of the profits from each chapter's sales are donated to MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, a national organization dedicated to alleviating hunger, with the remaining 50% supporting local hunger-relief initiatives.
