Who is Amphibian Stage
Amphibian Stage is a non-profit theatre company based in Fort Worth, Texas. Employing seven individuals, the organization has generated $0.744 million in revenue. Founded by three recent graduates of Texas Christian University's Theatre program, Amphibian Stage has been producing innovative and engaging performances for over two decades. Over the years, Amphibian Stage has presented a diverse range of productions, including 71 plays, 10 world premieres, and 30 stand-up comedy residencies. The company is dedicated to fostering new theatrical works, having developed 60 original plays. In addition to traditional stage productions, Amphibian Stage has expanded its artistic reach with projects like Neighborhood Leap, an augmented reality art walk, and an immersive audio adaptation of "The True History of Tragic Life and Triumphant Death of Julia Pastrana, The Ugliest Woman in the World," which received acclaim from The New York Times. Amphibian Stage's commitment to community engagement is evident in its pivotal role in revitalizing Fort Worth's South Main Street neighborhood. Originally located in the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, the company purchased a former nightclub in 2012, becoming one of the few operating businesses in the area. Today, South Main Village boasts over 60 thriving small businesses, a testament to Amphibian Stage's contribution to the neighborhood's transformation.
