American Victory Ship Museum

The American Victory Ship Museum is a non-profit organization based in Tampa, Florida. The museum is home to the SS American Victory, a World War II merchant steamship that has been meticulously restored and preserved. With a dedicated team of 13 employees, the museum relies on private donations, memberships, sponsorships, and the tireless efforts of volunteers. The SS American Victory offers daily educational tours, providing visitors with a unique glimpse into the history of maritime history and the crucial role played by merchant vessels during wartime. Serving as a training site for firefighters, law enforcement officers, active and reserve military personnel, and working dogs, the ship also hosts special events throughout the year. The museum is entirely self-funded, receiving no government financial support. Since its arrival in Tampa in 1999, dedicated volunteers have contributed over 1,000,000 hours to the ship's restoration, maintenance, and operation.
