Access Center for Independent Living (ACIL) is a non-profit organization established in 1984. ACIL's primary focus is empowering individuals with disabilities to attain independence. These include independent living services, assistance with transitioning from long-term care to community living, and youth leadership forums. The organization also provides information and referral services. ACIL's Recycled Equipment Donated for Independence (REDI) program is managed by Jeff Allen. Maria Matzik serves as the Education & Advocacy Specialist and leads Breaking Silences Groups. Public Health Specialist Marissa Bergman is also part of the team. The organization serves several target industries. These include healthcare, education, community services, and the non-profit sector. ACIL is led by individuals with disabilities. The staff and board are comprised of at least 51% individuals with disabilities. ACIL is committed to community advocacy and peer support, providing a wide range of services for individuals with disabilities. Jamesha Maxwell is the IL Transition Coordinator, and Dylan Boot and Barbara Butler serve as Independent Living Specialists.
