Accelerate Health Equity

Accelerate Health Equity is a city-wide initiative based in Philadelphia, dedicated to addressing health equity and combating racism within healthcare. The initiative's primary focus is to improve the health of Black Philadelphians. Accelerate Health Equity operates within the healthcare, public health, community development, and research sectors. The initiative's core mission is to fight racism within healthcare. It achieves this by supporting and evaluating evidence-based interventions. The organization employs a data-driven approach to track progress and scale effective interventions. Accelerate Health Equity concentrates on 16 specific topic areas. These areas were identified through a community health needs assessment. The organization's team includes Erica Dixon, PhD, who serves as the Director. Kano Amagai, MPH, works as a Data Analyst. Melissa Berkowitz, MPP MS, is the Project Manager. Kaley Maltz, BA, holds the position of Communications and Engagement Manager. Charles Rareshide, MA, is the Senior Data Analyst. Accelerate Health Equity is committed to community and stakeholder engagement. It focuses on measurable progress and scaling effective interventions. The initiative utilizes behavioral economics, human-centered design, and health services research in its work.
