John Kalanik's Email & Phone

With over 20 years of industry experience and a long-time passion for software development, Kalanik oversees and provides direction to InStep Software and its three business units: InStep Consulting, InStep Telecom, and the eDNA Products Unit. As president, Kalanik is responsible for creating partnerships and strategic alliances that build on the company's vision. In addition, he leads the research and development team and guides the ongoing quality and innovation initiatives of eDNA, the company's flagship product. Before InStep Software, Kalanik held various management positions on large-scale engineering and software development projects in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Most recently, he served as senior project engineer for Sargent & Lundy, a leading architectural-engineering firm in the electric power industry. At Sargent & Lundy, Kalanik led an award-winning team of power generation software developers. Kalanik earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Additionally, he completed coursework in nuclear engineering at Bettis Reactor Engineering School in Pittsburgh.
